Lorraine Kelly delivers one-word verdict on Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s unique baby name after birth

ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly has shared her thoughts on Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s choice of baby name after the couple announced the birth of their daughter on Wednesday.

The former Coronation Street star, 37, shared that she had become a mother following the birth of her first-born, who was born last week.

Keegan and husband Wright, 38, posted a sweet photo as well as a caption in which they shared the newborn’s name, Palma.

They wrote: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”

Kelly, 65, brought up the topic on her self-titled ITV show Lorraine on Thursday, sharing her thoughts on the name choice.

The Scottish host commented: “A huge congratulations to Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright who have announced the birth of their baby daughter – that’s such a lovely picture.

“They’ve called her Palma – now Palma is believed to be inspired by their love of the Spanish island of Mallorca. Palma of course being the capital.”

She then pondered aloud: “Maybe that’s where she’s conceived? Who knows. If so…”

The famous pair have been together for more than a decade, and Keegan has opened up in the past about pressures to become a mother being piled on her once she tied the knot with former The Only Way is Essex (Towie) star Wright.

In a candid 2019 interview, the actress admitted she felt a lot of “frustration” about constantly being asked when she planned to have her first child.

“It’s horrible,” she commented, pointing out: “It’s like, ‘You’re 32. Are you not planning to have a baby yet?’

“People don’t know if we’re trying. They don’t know the background of what’s happening. “It’s no one else’s business. In this day and age you shouldn’t ask questions like that,” she told The Sun.
