Trisha Goddard has become the second housemate to be evicted from ITV Celebrity Big Brother, although some fans have been left outraged at how she was received upon her exit.
The 67-year-old broadcaster decided to take on the reality show to show others “not be scared of living” after being diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer.
Goddard’s had bravely fought the disease in 2008 but tragedy struck when it returned in 2023.
Her condition is terminal, meaning it is treatable but nor curable, and is currently receiving palliative care.

The legendary presenter has received major treatment just before appearing on the show but still persevered.
While on the show, Goddard began to see her experience as a “respite” from the reality of her condition on the outside.
To that end, she admitted it was “a bit sad” when she was forced to leave.
“It meant a lot, it was respite it was a holiday from having to think about cancer, because with the BB team and with my team in the Stes so I didn’t have to think of the next scan, and I could be like a child again,” she told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.
Goddard continued: “Yes, I did talk about cancer because I had to, and it is part of my life, as it is for 3.4 million Brits. It was just a break from having to think about it.”
Despite her heartfelt explanation, some members of the live audience were less than impressed and booed the presenter as she left the house.
The 67-year-old’s difficult reception infuriated some fans, who took to social media to blast the booing crowd.
One fumed: “This audience is clearly made of the worst people, so desperate to have their booing moment they’ll opt for a woman distracting herself from cancer, evil I say!”
“I cannot believe Trisha is getting booed. Mickey didn’t even get booed like that. This country is something else,” another despaired.
A third declared: “All those booing Trisha be ashamed of yourselves!”
“All the children in the crowd need to grow the fuck up and stop booing Trisha FFS. Vile cretins,” a fourth raged. (sic)
Some speculated Goddard’s frosty reception may be owed to her awkward row with fellow housemate and former MP Sir Michael Fabricant, who was the first housemate to be evicted.
While discussing his French and Jewish roots, Fabricant said: “The point I’m making is Jewish people, when they usually come to this country, believe ‘do in Rome as the Romans do’.”
“So not come to this country if your aim is to change everyone to your way of thinking,” the 74-year-old continued.
“Hang on, are you slipping into Islamophobia?” Goddard interrupted before adding his speech was “getting dangerous.”
