Liam Payne’s immense fortune left to his loved ones has been unveiled after he died without leaving a will.
The former One Direction star died on October 16, 2024, after falling from a third-floor balcony during a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Singer Cheryl Tweedy – who shares an eight-year-old son with Payne – was granted the power of administration of his estate.
According to recent court documents, Richard Bray, a music lawyer, was also named as administrator.
Payne reportedly left behind £28.6million, which after expenses and debts were paid, fell to £24.3million.
After his tragic death, Tweedy shared a heartbreaking statement, saying: “As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.”
“Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”
She urged the public to be respectful amid what she called the “media exploitation” of Payne’s death.
The star further hit out at “abhorrent reports” that she claimed served only to do harm to Payne’s loved ones.

“Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them. Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last,” she added.
The pair’s son Bear was born in 2017, with Payne announcing on his Instagram: “My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!”
Payne and Tweedy split shortly after Bear’s first birthday, but the two continued to co-parent, with the singer ensuring his son was always well provided for, even if he wasn’t with him all the time.
According to Payne’s friends, the star made plans “some years ago” to guarantee that, in the event of his death, his fortune would go to his only child.
An insider told The Daily Mail: “Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much.
“He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially. It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.”
It’s likely that Payne’s fortune will be held in trust for his son under UK intestacy laws, which typically direct a person’s estate to their legal spouse or closest blood relative.
As a result, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy may inherit nothing – despite her sharing that the couple had planned to marry shortly before his passing.
Five individuals were charged in connection with the singer’s death in Argentina.
According to a statement from Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, those charged with manslaughter include the hotel’s manager, a receptionist, and a friend of Payne.
