Who is new Clarkson’s Farm star and Kaleb Cooper’s replacement Harriet Cowan? All you need to know from age to social media

Harriet Cowan, a 24-year-old full-time nurse and farmer from Belper, Derbyshire, is set to join the cast of Clarkson’s Farm for its fourth series, replacing Kaleb Cooper.

The young farmhand will be stepping in whilst Kaleb tours the country following his newfound fame from the show, as seen in the show’s first trailer for the new series.

In the trailer, Jeremy Clarkson explains that while he is happy for Kaleb, the farm manager has left him “slightly in the lurch”. Viewers are then introduced to Cowan, who can be seen mucking in across Diddly Squat Farm to help fill the gap.

Farming is in Cowan’s blood, having grown up assisting her father Eddy on their farm. Her impressive agricultural skills stem from this upbringing, where she gained hands-on experience in farm management.

Interestingly, Cowan’s decision to pursue dual careers as both a nurse and farmer comes from wanting to honour both her parents’ wishes.

While her mother had always hoped she would become a nurse, her father dreamt of her following in his farming footsteps.

In 2023, she graduated from the University of Derby after studying nursing, fulfilling her mother’s aspirations.

She was previously named her town’s Young Farmers’ spokesperson and continues to use social media to highlight the realities of working on a farm.

Despite initially admitting she had never watched Clarkson’s Farm before joining, Harriet appears to have made a strong impression on Jeremy.

In the trailer, he can be heard praising her, saying: “She’s brilliant.”

The pair seem to develop a humorous rapport, with one scene showing Harriet asking the former Top Gear presenter: “Should I trim your eyebrows?”

A surprised Jeremy responds: “What’s wrong with my eyebrows?” To which Harriet quips back: “Are you kidding?”

Harriet quickly got stuck into her role at Diddly Squat Farm, helping with feeding animals and demonstrating practical skills. She also showed her ability to erect fences and weld, with Prime Video confirming she got the farm in shape in record time.

The fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm will consist of eight episodes, released over three weeks. The first four episodes will drop on May 23, followed by two more on May 30 and the final two on June 6.

This new series will follow Jeremy as he attempts to open a pub as part of his Farm to Fork restaurant vision.

This comes after the council previously shut down his Oxfordshire restaurant, which was allegedly opened without planning permission.

The trailer also reveals that Jeremy will be reuniting with his former Top Gear co-star Richard Hammond on the programme.

Preparations for the launch of his Oxfordshire pub, The Farmer’s Dog, will feature prominently, though it appears the journey won’t be entirely smooth sailing.

Cowan is active on social media, with around 35,000 followers on TikTok and a growing Instagram presence. She uses the handle @harrietcowan_x.

She regularly shares updates about her farming life and recently confirmed her role on Clarkson’s Farm by posting the trailer with the caption: “Ekkkk something exciting is coming on the 23rd of may.”

Cowan is reportedly in a relationship with fellow farmer James Booth, who appears to share her passion for agriculture.

The couple attended the Farmers Protest in London together in November 2024, where thousands gathered to protest against planned agricultural inheritance taxation policies.

At the protest, Cowan joined Clarkson on Parliament Square, advocating for farmers’ rights and highlighting the importance of British agriculture.
