Sir Tom Jones, 85, urged to ‘take care’ as latest career announcement sparks concern: ‘Worked hard enough!’

Sir Tom Jones has sparked concern among fans after launching the UK and Europe leg of his tour just days after celebrating his 85th birthday.

The music icon took to Instagram to thank fans for kicking off the summer leg of his tour at the Hampton Court Palace Festival.

He wrote: “Thank you everyone who came to our @hcpfestival show last night to kick off our tour in style!”

But while many celebrated his return to the stage, some followers urged the beloved singer to slow down.

Comments quickly flooded the post, with several expressing concern over his well-being.

One fan wrote: “Please take care, that’s a very long tour.”

Another added: “Again congratulations on your 85th birthday. I love love you and the boys. Don’t understand why you need to tour so much. It’s so taxing even on your hips, your knees, your feet. Stay home and enjoy life in London. You worked hard enough.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one person commenting: “Hi Tom, I hope you are doing good. Take care,” and another urging: “Love Sir Tom, take it easy on your tour.”

A fifth simply said: “Good to see you so Sir Tom. Stay strong and healthy.”

Jone marked his 85th birthday on June 7 while filming for ITV’s The Voice UK, where he serves as a coach.

He shared a heartwarming moment on social media in which he was surprised with a massive birthday cake on set.

The clip shows host Emma Willis presenting the cake to Jones as fellow coaches Will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, and McFly’s Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher joined in singing “Happy Birthday,” prompting rapturous applause from the studio audience.

“What a lovely surprise from my @thevoiceuk family today!” he captioned the post.

Jones, who wrapped up the North American leg of his tour earlier this spring, had already faced similar concern from fans when he first announced the tour back in January.

At the time, one follower wrote: “It’s such a worry that you’re overdoing it, it must be so tiring doing those gigs… and you have to save some energy for touring here in the UK.”

Another commented: “I’m so happy for you because that is what you want. On the other hand, I am worried for you because you’re not the youngest anymore. But I wish you and your team a great time in America and Canada.”

A third added: “You are fantastic Sir Tom. Take it easy, I will pray for you. And have a great time.”

Despite the concerns, the legendary singer shows no signs of slowing down.
