Television personality Danielle Lloyd has returned to hospital for another surgical procedure to remove a suspicious mole from her stomach, as she continues her battle with skin cancer.
The 41-year-old mother of five underwent the operation on Tuesday after medical specialists recommended removing the growth during her routine six-month check-up.
Lloyd documented her hospital visit on social media, explaining that whilst the mole appeared small, it had noticeably altered in both colour and size.
The former glamour model will face an anxious wait of eight to ten weeks for biopsy results to determine whether the growth is cancerous.
This latest procedure follows her melanoma diagnosis in February, when she underwent surgery to remove a cancerous mole from above her collarbone.
Lloyd first shared her cancer diagnosis through an emotional video message in February, struggling to contain her tears as she revealed the news to followers.
“I don’t really know how to say this and I didn’t know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness of this happening to other people,” she said at the time.
“Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer.”
The Liverpudlian presenter expressed her shock at receiving the diagnosis, though praised the support she received from Macmillan nurses at the hospital.
She had initially required an operation to determine whether the cancer had spread beyond the original site.
Lloyd shared footage of her hospital experience on Instagram, revealing she felt “a little bit apprehensive” whilst waiting but was “absolutely fine going in” for the procedure.
She showed followers the pre-operative markings on her abdomen, joking: “I had to laugh because it looked like they’d drawn the evil eye on my belly.”
Following the surgery, she displayed the resulting scar and reported experiencing minor discomfort upon returning home.
“When I got home, I was a little bit sore and a little bit swollen, but overall I’m just looking forward to getting some positive results,” she told her social media audience.
The presenter issued a trigger warning before sharing the graphic medical content, using her platform to encourage others to monitor their skin for changes.
Lloyd accompanied her post with a stark warning about skin protection, urging followers to “use high SPF, cover up, say no to sunbeds”.
She emphasised that early detection could save lives, noting that skin cancer remains highly treatable when identified promptly.
The presenter also confronted false claims about sunscreen safety circulating on social media, responding to a follower who questioned chemical ingredients in sun protection products.
“That’s actually false information and it’s people posting causing people to believe it if suncream was harmful it wouldn’t be sold in shop,” she wrote, adding that she had discussed the issue during a recent visit to Westminster.
Lloyd revealed that despite using NHS services, which meant longer waiting times for results, she had found the care “amazing”.
