Jeremy Clarkson forced to pause filming for Clarkson’s Farm as JD Vance holidays near Diddly Squat

Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to pause filming of Clarkson’s Farm thanks to US Vice President JD Vance.

Clarkson, 65, shared a social media post on Tuesday, August 12, to explain how the Vance’s visit to the Cotswolds has impacted work on the popular show.

Clarkson shares frequent updates on his Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, and informed fans this week that Vance’s no-fly zone meant drones couldn’t fly above the area.

Vance is currently holidaying in the idyllic hamlet of Dean, close to Clarkson’s farm site which garners plenty of interest thanks to his Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm.

Thanks to the visit, security in the Chipping Norton area is on high alert while Vance is driven around in a convoy.

Sharing a picture showing the impacted area and where the farm sits within it, he wrote: “The JD Vance no fly zone.

“We are the pin. So on the downside, no drone shots today. On the upside, no annoying light aircraft.”

The former Top Gear star’s right-hand man Kaleb Cooper also left a comment on the post to describe the measures he had been forced to take due to the change.

The 27-year-old quipped: “My wheat got wet in the trailer last night as the convo stopped me in the rain in chippy.

“I could have easily went on my way and got it in the shed without getting in the way. He just drove around in a vw polo nobody would know who he was.” (sic)

It is understood Vance and his family are staying in a Grade II-listed country manor in the area, with The Telegraph reporting the owners of the manor have apologised to locals “for the circus”.

The Vice President is holidaying with his wife Usha and their three children, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.

Clarkson purchased his Cotswolds farm back in 2008 and began to run it in 2019.

From 2021 onwards, he has documented his farming journey through Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm, which continues to be a hit with viewers.

The former Grand Tour star expanded on his business empire by buying a pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which opened last year in the area.

Clarkson often posts about politics and takes a strong stance on the current farming climate.

Just last week, he hit back at a fan on social media who cited Brexit as the reason for the presenter’s current farming struggles.

The remark came after Clarkson had faced a tough few weeks after announcing that bovine tuberculosis has been detected the farm.

He also announced on Friday, August 8, that Diddly Squat Farm was facing another problem, with this year’s weather leading to a “catastrophic” harvest across the nation this year.
