Former The Apprentice star Tom Skinner has shared more about his surprising friendship with US Vice President JD Vance.
Skinner, 34, first appeared in the public eye when he starred in the BBC reality series back in 2019, but has made several television appearances since his stint on the Alan Sugar competition show.
On Tuesday, he surprised X followers by revealing a seemingly bizarre friendship, sharing a snap of himself with Vance, who is currently holidaying in the UK with his family.
Sharing that he’d been invited to dine with the Vice President, he penned: “When the Vice President of the USA invites ya for a BBQ and beers, you say yes.
When the Vice President of the USA invites ya for a BBQ an beers, you say yes. Unreal night with JD and his friends n family. He was a proper gent. Lots of laughs and some fantastic food. A brilliant night, one to tell the grand kids about mate. Bosh❤️

“Unreal night with JD and his friends n family. He was a proper gent. Lots of laughs and some fantastic food. A brilliant night, one to tell the grand kids about mate. Bosh.”
He later took to the social media site again to show off a snap of himself with his arm around Vance.
“Here is a pic of Me and Vice President @JDVance towards the end of the night after a few beers,” he wrote.
The post continued: “I’m overdressed in my suit, but when the VP invites you to a BBQ, you don’t risk turning up in shorts and flip-flops.
“Cracking night in the beautiful English countryside with JD, his friends and family. Once in a lifetime. Bosh.” (sic)
The meeting comes after Vance publicly supported the reality star on X.
Skinner had claimed on the platform that he had received “death threats” and “vile comments” after sharing his belief that “something’s gone wrong” in the UK.
He also stated on X: “There is nothing wrong with being proud of where you’re from.”
In an unexpected development, Vance responded to Skinner with an image of a cartoon character.
An accompanying message read: “Hang in there, my friend. Remember that 90 percent of people attacking your family look like this.”
Skinner isn’t the only famous face to be posting about Vance’s trip to the English countryside, with Jeremy Clarkson sharing an Instagram post detailing the impact the visit is having on his Oxfordshire farm series, Clarkson’s Farm.
The 65-year-old shared a post on Tuesday, informing fans this week that Vance’s no-fly zone meant drones couldn’t fly above the area.
Thanks to the visit, security in the Chipping Norton area is on high alert while Vance is driven around in a convoy.
Sharing a picture showing the impacted area and where the farm sits within it, he wrote: “The JD Vance no fly zone.
