Princess Kate and Prince William have been honoured by Sir David Beckham with a touching detail in the gardens of his Cotswolds’ home.
The revelation comes just one week after the Princess of Wales made a public show of support for Lady Victoria Beckham by wearing a suit from the pop icon’s fashion label.
Details of Sir David’s tribute for the future King and Queen have been revealed in a new tell-all Netflix documentary covering his wife.
In the show, the footballing legend gave a tour of his gardens where he had been cultivating a special rose variety named after William and Catherine at his £12million country home.
The £23 shrub, developed by celebrated rose breeder David Austin to commemorate the royal wedding in 2011, features prominently in the estate’s flower beds.
“Rosa. William and Catherine,” read a plant marker in the soil, proudly declaring the connection to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Lady Beckham, who was accompanying her husband on the tour of the gardens, marvelled: “It’s amazing what you’ve built here.”
Sir David became a knight of the realm in June as part of the King’s Birthday Honours List, recognising his achievements in sport and charitable work.
While the Beckhams attended William and Kate’s wedding in 2011, their relationship with the Royal Family has blossomed in recent years.
This was seen when Princess Kate twice supported Lady Beckham’s clothing label.
During her visit to Home-Start Oxford last week, the princess wore a £1,340 olive-green trouser suit designed by Victoria Beckham, coinciding with the release of the fashion designer’s documentary.
Palace insiders revealed the Princess’s outfit selection was meant to champion British designers. “It would have brought a smile to Victoria’s face,” a source noted.

The mutual gestures highlight the strengthening bond between the two couples, with Kate having previously worn the same Victoria Beckham suit at a British Fashion Council event in May.
Sir David has also recently struck up a friendship with King Charles, where the pair bonded over their shared horticultural interests – in particular, the former England captain’s homemade honey.
This connection prompted an invitation to Highgrove, where Sir David learned about The King’s Foundation, the charity Charles established in 1986.
“The King and David Beckham have really bonded over their similar interests,” a source revealed.
The footballing legend’s first appearance at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May saw him meeting both the King and Queen, further cementing his place within royal circles.
Earlier this year, Sir David shared that he was a “huge royalist” and that he: “Always get emotional talking about anything that I do with our Royal Family.”
“I was brought up in a household that adored and loved everything that came with the Royal Family,” he said.
Regarding his previous work fundraising with the royals, Sir David declared: “Whenever the Prince of Wales sends me a message and says I need you to do this or be there, it’s always a yes.”
