Ruth Codd comes under fire from BBC Celebrity Traitors fans as she ‘leaks’ huge ‘spoiler’ in social media update

Ruth Codd has cemented herself as one of the more powerful stars of The Celebrity Traitors, with the actress one of the few who is already on to Traitor Jonathan Ross.

However, she came under fire on Wednesday after sharing a cryptic social media post that many interpreted as a major spoiler.

The actress, known for her roles in The Midnight Club, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Irish Blood, shared a seemingly harmless post responding to the first three episodes of The Celebrity Traitors.

As the clip shows her taking a sip from what appears to be a glass of wine, the accompanying text reads: “You think you have trust issues?

“I thought my favourite comedian was following me around because they wanted to be my friend, but they were actually trying to murder me for 24 hours straight on national television.”

With Ms Codd still very much in the game as of the end of Wednesday’s episode, her comment prompted disgruntled fans to question why she would give away such a “spoiler,” assuming she was referring to being murdered in upcoming episodes.

This seems particularly plausible since Ms Codd is the only person being vocal about her suspicions of comedian Mr Ross, who considered murdering her while convening with his fellow Traitors at the end of Wednesday’s instalment.

As always, the victim they landed on wasn’t revealed, with fans being forced to wait until Thursday’s episode to find out who could be murdered.

In the comments section of the 29-year-old’s TikTok, many expressed their disappointment over the supposed spoiler.

“Ruth, please hold my hand while you answer this… Did you just spoil an entire season or show for me right now?” one asked.

A second wrote: “Ruth you can’t drop that without giving me the tea,” while another shared: “Did you just spoil it for me?”

“NOOOOOOO I NEED MORE RUTH CONTENT YOU BETTER NOT DIE I SWEAR,” a fourth weighed in.

One more penned: “I’m confused, does this mean she was murdered??? Because how would she be able to post this without the spoilers of who the Traitors are??” (sic)

However, Ms Codd attempted to pour cold water on the fears, clarifying in the comments that she was in fact referring to how Traitor Alan Carr had considered “murdering” her in last Wednesday’s episode before he opted to get rid of singer Paloma Faith.

The comedian was tasked with touching the face of the Faithful he wished to “murder,” and was seen following Ms Codd for a moment before taking the opportunity to touch Ms Faith’s face, pretending he was removing a hair from her cheek.

Several others noted in the comments that Ms Codd had managed to escape thanks to her decision to fix up a dessert for everyone.

Replying to one such comment, the actress quipped: “A lot to be said for great hostessing skills.”
