Alesha Dixon ‘rekindles relationship’ with Azuka Ononye in ‘one last attempt’ to salvage marriage after shock split

Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has reportedly rekindled her relationship with long-term partner Azuka Ononye after their “shock split” earlier this year.

The pair are making efforts to save their marriage following what sources described as a “really rocky patch”, despite previously confiding to friends that they were separating.

The couple had continued living together for the sake of their children, which reportedly helped reignite their romance, a close source told The Sun. “They went through a really rocky patch and decided to call it a day,” they said.

“It had been difficult for a long time, and Alesha just couldn’t see a way forward.”

The situation became so strained that Azuka temporarily moved out of their family home, with the insider revealing: “AZ even moved out to a hotel for a while, despite the fact they were co-parenting.”

The couple’s relationship reportedly evolved into “more of a friendship” before they decided to separate.

However, the couple have now decided to try again, with sources saying they are doing “all it takes” to make their relationship work.

“But there is still a huge amount of feeling between them. They’ve been together for 12 years and have two beautiful children. So they have decided to give it one last try. They both desperately want to be a family again and are going to do all it takes to make it work.”

The pair share daughters Azura, 10, and Anaya, four, who remain their priority.

Dixon and Ononye first met in 2006 following her split from So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey, who had confessed to an affair with singer Javine Hylton.

Ononye, who works as a choreographer and creative director, was initially hired as a dancer for Alesha’s singing tour.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2018, Alesha admitted she “played hard to get for about a year”.

She later told Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast that Ononye “was the first person that I’d met, that I knew that we could have children together because of our values, our morals, our thinking aligned”.

Despite the couple’s efforts, some friends remain sceptical about their reconciliation.

“Alesha’s friends aren’t convinced it will last. Ultimately, none of their problems have been fixed, so it’s going to be tough,” the source told The Sun.

Alesha is currently filming the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 46-year-old was recently spotted on a girls’ break in Jamaica as she navigated the difficult period in her relationship.

Meanwhile, Ononye recently posted a video on Instagram of their eldest daughter at a bowling alley.
