BBC’s Victoria Coren Mitchell shares rare update on daughter as she opens up about comedian husband

Victoria Coren Mitchell has shared a rare glimpse into her home life with her husband David Michell and their two children.

The Only Connect host has two daughters with the 51-year-old comedian, 10-year-old Barbra and two-year-June, whom they usually shield from the public eye.

In a rare interview, she gave some insights into her children, revealing her eldest daughter’s most loved TV show is an old fan favourite: “My 10-year-old loves The Masked Singer and old episodes of Poirot, just like her mother”

Speaking to Radio Times Magazine, she added: “The baby doesn’t have any screen time; she’s only 18 months old.”

Although she admitted: “She loves Bluey – an excellent TV show – but she doesn’t know it’s a TV show. She just thinks it’s a source of really great plastic dog Weebles.”

In March 2012, Coren announced her engagement to Mitchell; according to David, the TV duo met at a film premiere in 2007 and had a short-lived series of dates, but only began dating properly in 2010.

The couple married in 2012, and their first daughter was born in May 2015.

Coren Mitchell had shared the news of her pregnancy with June back in November 2023. Taking to X, Victoria posted: “Many people are assuming my tweet yesterday was a Halloween costume.

“Not at all; last week I had a baby, and nothing currently fits me except cloaks.

“Luckily, Only Connect is a pre-recorded. Happy All Saints Day.”

Last summer, Victoria and David were all smiles as they were spotted together without their children.

It marked one of their first public appearances together since their surprise baby announcement 10 months earlier.
