Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend Lisa Hogan issues moving update after pet dog’s death amid ‘devastating’ farm setbacks

Clarkson’s Farm star Lisa Hogan has provided an encouraging update from Diddly Squat after her boyfriend Jeremy Clarkson revealed the death of a puppy called Mr Grey from his dog Arya’s recent litter.

The sad update compounded a series of devastating setbacks at his Oxfordshire farm last week, with the news emerging merely hours after Clarkson announced that Diddly Squat Farm faced a two-month lockdown due to a bovine tuberculosis outbreak.

Hogan first shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, writing last week: “Sad news this morning. Mr Grey has gone to fur and feather land.”

The puppy was one of 12 born to their red Labrador last week, with each given different coloured collars that inspired their names.

Hogan’s initial Instagram footage captured her consoling the bereaved mother dog, who appeared dejected whilst protectively positioned beside her remaining offspring. “Poor Mr Grey, I’m sorry darling,” she murmured, tenderly stroking Arya’s ears.

During a Times Radio appearance on Friday, Clarkson revealed the emotional toll of the concurrent crises: “It’s only been not even 24 hours since I found out and it occupies my mind. Well, it was occupying my mind but I got up this morning and found one of my puppies has died.”

Beyond the puppy’s death and TB crisis, Clarkson disclosed that a calf on the farm had fallen seriously ill. “And we’ve got a very sickly calf. Honestly, farming? I’m not enjoying it this week,” he told radio listeners.

Kicking off a new week on Monday, Hogan returned to Instagram with a new video of her dog, Arya, tending to her surviving pups. “One week on in puppyville,” she penned in the accompanying caption along with a love heart emoji.

Inevitably, it didn’t take long for her followers to push for a further update on how things at the farm have been following such a devastating end to the week.

“How is she doing since the loss of the puppy?” one fan asked in response. “She looked so sad last time. How are you all coping?”

Hogan delivered an emotional response: “She was sad and looking for her pup for a few days, stayed close to her a lot.”

However, she finished on a more optimistic tone. “She’s calmer now,” Hogan revealed.

The setbacks facing Diddly Squat first emerged on Thursday last week, when a veterinary examination revealed an infected cow during routine testing.

Clarkson confirmed the affected animal was pregnant with twins and must be destroyed under UK law. “They have to be culled. It’s the law,” he stated on social media platform X when questioned about potential recovery.

The outbreak means cattle cannot be bought or sold from the Chipping Norton farm until retesting occurs in two months.

Speaking to Times Radio presenter Peter Cardwell, Clarkson described the situation as “absolutely dreadful”, explaining that after months of routine testing, the positive result came as a devastating blow when the vet delivered the news during Thursday’s examination.

The presenter clarified that whilst cattle operations face restrictions, Diddly Squat’s farm shop would continue trading normally.

“It’s only cows that get affected by it,” he explained, reassuring customers that the retail operation remains unaffected by the livestock lockdown.

Clarkson later posted on X to address confusion: “The farm is NOT shut. We just can’t buy or sell any cows,” emphasising that only cattle movements face restrictions during the two-month quarantine period.
