ITV set to be ‘sued’ by I’m A Celebrity contestant Janice Dickinson following horror injury

ITV is being sued following an injury former model Janice Dickinson suffered during the first series of I’m A Celebrity spin-off show, All Stars.

The South Africa edition of the show premiered in 2023, with series two currently being filmed. However, the programme is facing a major blow before it airs.

Ms Dickinson, 70, is thought to have suffered a horror fall during filming for the latest series, resulting in the TV personality being hospitalised.

The former model was forced to quit the show after she tripped over a cable in the Kruger National Park, landing face first, The Mirror reports.

It’s understood the incident left Ms Dickinson with a wound to her head, a black eye and concerns about a potential skull fracture.

After being rushed to hospital, a break was thankfully ruled out by doctors, but the businesswoman is now seeking a claim against ITV.

It’s understood the documents, which lists a personal injury claim, were filed last week, titled “Dickinson v ITV Studios Limited.”

It isn’t clear how much financial compensation Ms Dickinson is seeking.

The self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” spoke out not long after the incident, reflecting on the moment she was reunited with her husband, Robert Gerner.

“My husband’s face didn’t budge when he saw me – it was probably like waking up and seeing me every morning with this wrinkly old pruney face,” she commented.

“But he held my hand really tight so I knew something must be up.”

Ms Dickinson went on to call the injury the result of an “honest accident,” and confirmed ITV had paid her medical bills in Los Angeles.

“If you look really closely now, there’s still an indentation on my forehead, which I don’t think will ever fill out,” she added.

Ms Dickinson also admitted she’d been disappointed not to be able to return to the camp before agreeing production had made the right decision getting her to pull out of the show.

“I was in shock even a day after,” she recalled. “I think people in the campsite couldn’t have handled it.”

Ms Dickinson found fame though modelling in the 1970s and 1980s before joining America’s Next Top Model as a judge.

Earlier this month, I’m A Celebrity presenters Ant and Dec confirmed they were filming the second series of the All Stars edition of the show.

There were come complaints from fans who didn’t enjoy the pre-recorded nature of the 2023 series, which saw celebrities like Myleene Klass, Amir Khan, Gillian McKeith, Joe Swash and Carol Vorderman compete.
